Without question Italy’s most famous wine zone, Toscana is the most revered source for quality Sangiovese in Italy. The grape is highly adaptable and over time planted in different areas has developed into different clones (Sangiovetto in Chianti, Prugnolo Gentile in Montepulciano, and Sangiovese Grosso in Montalcino). This tasting is designed to highlight the differences in the resulting wines stemming from the clones of Sangiovese used to produce them. Inheritantly it is a study in terroir as all the wines are 100% Sangiovese, just harvested in different sub-zones of Tuscany. Enjoy!
